Trump says he plans long July 4 speech in 100+ degree heat ‘just to show I can do anything’

(Gray News) – The massive heat wave expected in the nation’s capital won’t deter President Donald Trump from giving a lengthy speech on the Fourth of July.

Trump said Wednesday during a speech in North Dakota that he plans to give a “really long speech” on the National Mall.

“On July 4th, it’s going to be approximately 107 degrees out, and I’m going to go and I’m going to make a really long speech … just to show that I can do anything. It’s going to be 107,” Trump said.

Temperatures are expected to be dangerously high throughout the central and eastern parts of the U.S. this holiday weekend due to a high-pressure system known as a heat dome.

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Washington, D.C., area on Saturday. The high is forecast to be 103 degrees.
