WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – President Donald Trump will travel to Chippewa County, Wisconsin on Friday for a trip that the White House said is about highlighting his “strong support” for farmers in the state.

“President Trump will return to the Badger State on Friday to highlight his strong support for Wisconsin’s farmers — delivering lower input costs, new trade markets, less red tape, a stronger farm safety net, a doubled death tax exemption, no taxes on rural property loan interest, and new Rural Opportunity Zones,” said Liz Huston, White House Regional Press Secretary. “Wisconsin families put their faith in President Trump in 2024, and he has spent every single day since taking office fighting and delivering for them.”

The trip is the president’s visit to Wisconsin since he was re-elected in 2024.

Ahead of the visit, Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) wrote on X that he is “proud to host @POTUS and @SecRollins in #WI03 on Friday.”

“Donald Trump has been able to drive exports by having new trade agreements, on average about one a month. These are significant, statistically significant things for our farmers,” said the congressman.

Van Orden also said the president is not visiting Wisconsin “to do politics.” But his seat is considered to be competitive in the November midterms.

Another member of the Wisconsin delegation, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), also spoke out ahead of the visit, saying that the president’s actions are not helping her state’s farmers.

“I don’t know what President Trump is going to say to our farmers when he comes to the Chippewa Valley this week,” he said.“But I can tell you, the farmers that I’ve been meeting with are hurting. And they’re hurting really badly because of Trump’s choice. Trump’s choice to go to war in Iran when we weren’t under any imminent threat from Iran.”

The trip comes just after a new Marquette Law School poll was released this week, finding that the president’s overall approval declined to 38%. But it also showed strong support for Trump among Republican primary voters.
